Our commitment to sustainability

Sustainability is a core part of who we are. It’s incredibly important to us that we do everything we can to create and maintain a responsible, forward-thinking business.


So, how do we do it?

Fabric choices

Every item in our current collection of activewear tops is made from either:

  • ECONYL® regenerated nylon, an eco-sustainable techno fabric created from rescued waste materials, or
  • Deadstock fabrics, which we source and save from landfill.

Our socks are made using recycled cotton and recycled polyester.

Whatever we produce, every fabric choice is made with the planet in mind.

Labels & packaging

Our packaging is designed to minimise waste at every step.

  • Our mailers are made from recycled materials, and they’re fully recyclable. Each one includes double adhesive strips, making them easy to reuse — whether for returns or for sending something on again.
  • All of our zip-lock bags, garment labels, swing tags, thank-you cards, and sock packaging are also made from recycled materials.

Local & responsible suppliers

We carefully select all of our suppliers. To us, sustainability isn’t only about fabric — it’s also about the people we choose to work with.

  • The majority of our suppliers are local, Devon-based small businesses.
  • When we have to go further afield, we aim to use UK-based suppliers wherever possible. This helps reduce our carbon footprint and supports local businesses.

Unfortunately some supplies simply can’t be sourced within the UK, for example our packaging. In this case we’ve chosen our packaging supplier specifically for their sustainability practices. For every purchase, they plant trees, with the number calculated automatically based on each order, helping us all work toward offsetting our carbon footprint.

We also believe in championing female-led businesses. From our branding and photography to our pattern cutter and our factory, we’ve partnered with women-led companies wherever possible.

Limited production runs

At Zero18, we stand firmly against fast fashion. Our commitment to ethical practices begins at the design stage and continues right through to the moment you receive your beautifully made activewear.

By producing in small, limited batches, we minimise waste. 

By using deadstock, recycled, and other sustainable fabrics, we ensure every piece is made with the planet in mind.

We're not perfect...

Sustainability is a journey for us. While we're not perfect, we make conscious choices at every stage and in every area of our business and remain committed to learning, improving, and reducing our impact over time.
